Castillo & Castillo has contributed to the World Bank Group’s Doing Business in Central America and the Dominican Republic 2015.

Doing Business in Central America and the Dominican Republic 2015 compares business regulations in a number of cities in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, and how they affect domestic small to medium-size enterprises (SMEs). The guide also looks specifically at the regulations in place in 10 ports and how these affect trading across borders.

Partner Praxedes J. Castillo Baez and Senior associate Maria Portes Goris provided knowledge and expertise on the real estate aspects of starting a business and protecting minority investors for the Dominican Republic sections of the guide.

Castillo y Castillo’s Real Estate team is ranked in band 1 by Legal 500 Latin America. Chambers Latin America notes in its Real Estate and Tourism section that “Castillo y Castillo has a top-notch reputation and maintains an excellent working relationship with the client.”
